An excerpt from "Easy Rider"
I remember looking upon the word,
as I searched for it’s meaning,
my meaning,
my name.
Just as mysterious as the discovery of my own being,
I met a term,
with conception,
guided by the one within.
There she stood...
“reaper”
and my mind went to darkness
to death
to the gold harvest
to the dormancy
to the one who reminds us
of the holding place
the in between
before the return.
I have learned to hold space
for the tenderness I feel in this meaning,
for the child I was in this moment,
for the womxn that I am in this moment.
I am learning to honor the sacredness of closure,
and I will learn about the clarity that only love reveals.
