Velvet Eclipse

I woke from a dream bathing in springs

I feel myself deep and safe

In the warmth of words…in action.

Velvet eclipse

softening the sharp sunlight

through a density that clears

in the wake of distance.

A space between

shortening

with each intake of breath

It comes after being held

in full capacity

lungs that swell

in tandem withdraw

in traveling through

a quickness that elevates.

I promised to meet you here

in fractured reflections

between glass

in bathed blood cells

an antigenic response

reminding me to give way

to these ultraviolet rays

of aquatic dissipation

a decompression,

released in ease.
